Butt Wash (or Bum Cleaning, Tushy cleaning etc.) is not a new concept- a container of water has been used to clean anus and remove fecal residue after pooping since the ancient times. If you have already used a jug or water bottle you have experienced awkward rotation of shoulder and elbow to get the heavy water container to backside with a subsequent twist of wrist to start the water flow- this old method is effective. But it is painful to use and over time such turning and twisting of shoulder, elbow and wrist can develop into chronic pain. The other method of personal hygiene or cleaning butt is to point jets of water upwards at the anus and hope the high speed of water would alone clean up the anal area. Jets are expensive to install and they need to be cleaned after every incident. Generally, they are ineffective because jet sprays spread the fecal material and do not allow the use of your hand to rub and rinse.

Washing anus is no different than washing your hands under a faucet where water pours down and you rub and rinse hands to do an effective cleanup.
